The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has launched a new feature called **Passbook Lite** as part of its EPFO 3.0 reforms. This feature aims to provide members with a quick and convenient way to view their provident fund (PF) account summaries without the need to access the full passbook portal.

**Simplified and Faster Access**

Passbook Lite enables users to check key details such as contributions, withdrawals, and current balances more swiftly. According to Labour & Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, “The reform integrates existing APIs, reduces the load on the standalone Passbook Portal, and improves operational efficiency.” While Passbook Lite offers a simplified view, members can still access the comprehensive passbook portal for detailed information and graphical displays.

This update streamlines access by offering all key services through a single login, making it easier for members to manage their PF accounts. It is expected to reduce grievances and increase transparency in account management. Until now, members had to log in separately to the passbook portal to view their PF transactions, making the process somewhat cumbersome.

**Easier PF Account Transfers During Job Changes**

In addition to Passbook Lite, the EPFO has simplified the process of transferring PF accounts when changing jobs. The organization has made **Annexure K**, the transfer certificate issued by the previous employer, available online. This enhancement helps employees easily shift their PF accounts and track the status of their transfer applications during career transitions.

These reforms reflect EPFO’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve member convenience and operational efficiency.
