The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has launched a new feature called **’Passbook Lite’** as part of its EPFO 3.0 reforms. This initiative aims to provide members with a quicker and simpler way to access their provident fund (PF) account summaries.
### What is Passbook Lite?
Passbook Lite allows users to view key details such as their contributions, withdrawals, and current PF balance efficiently, without the need to access the full passbook portal. This streamlined feature is designed to reduce the time and steps involved in checking PF account information.
### Improved Operational Efficiency
Labour & Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya explained that the reform integrates existing APIs and reduces the load on the standalone Passbook Portal, thereby enhancing operational efficiency. While Passbook Lite offers quick access to essential details, users can still visit the traditional Passbook Portal for a detailed and comprehensive view, including graphical displays of their PF account.
### Single Login for Key Services
One of the highlights of this update is the provision of all key services through a single login. This enhancement simplifies access for members, potentially reducing grievances and improving transparency in PF account management.
### Simplified PF Account Transfer During Job Changes
In addition to Passbook Lite, EPFO has also simplified the process for transferring PF accounts when employees change jobs. The organization has made **Annexure K**, a transfer certificate issued by the previous employer, available online. This digital availability facilitates easier PF account transfers and enables employees to track the status of their applications seamlessly during job transitions.

With these initiatives, EPFO continues to enhance user experience and streamline PF management for millions of members across the country.
