**GST 2.0: Maruti Cars Become Cheaper by Up to ₹1.3 Lakh**

Maruti Suzuki India has announced a significant price cut across its entire range of cars, effective from September 22, 2025. This decision follows the recent reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on automobiles. Maruti Suzuki plans to pass on the full benefit of this GST rate cut directly to customers, making several models more affordable by up to ₹1.3 lakh.
**Price Reductions Across Models**
Entry-level cars are receiving the highest price cuts. The S-Presso will now be cheaper by as much as ₹1.3 lakh, while the Alto K10 sees a discount of up to ₹1.07 lakh. Other popular models such as the Celerio, Wagon-R, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Tour S, and Dzire are also set to become significantly more affordable under this scheme.
**SUVs and Premium Models Also Get Discounts**
The price cuts are not limited to entry-level cars. SUVs like the Fronx and Brezza will be available at prices lower by up to ₹1.13 lakh. Premium models are also seeing notable reductions: the Grand Vitara will be cheaper by up to ₹1.07 lakh, the Jimny by up to ₹51,900, Ertiga by ₹46,400, XL6 by ₹52,000, and the Invicto by up to ₹61,700.
**Market Impact**
Maruti Suzuki’s timely price cuts come amid a four-month slump in passenger vehicle sales across India. By passing on the GST benefit fully, the company is effectively lowering the entry price point for buyers. This strategy is expected to encourage first-time car purchases and boost fleet sales, aiding in faster inventory turnover at dealerships and enhancing overall industry morale.
This move by Maruti Suzuki could play a key role in reviving the Indian auto market, offering much-needed relief to consumers and dealers alike.
