Hombale Films has officially announced that *Kantara: Chapter 1* will be released in IMAX format on October 2. Sharing the exciting news via Instagram, the production house promised fans a “one-of-its-kind cinematic experience.” This release marks *Kantara: Chapter 1* as the third Indian film shot for IMAX, following the footsteps of *RRR* and *Pathaan*.
The upcoming sequel builds on the immense success of the original *Kantara* (2022). Fans can also look forward to the film’s trailer, which is slated to drop on September 22 at 12:45 PM.

Director of Photography Arvind Kashyap emphasized the unique experience the film aims to deliver. He revealed that several crucial portions were shot specifically for IMAX and PXL formats, ensuring an immersive viewing experience. *Kantara: Chapter 1* features one of the largest war sequences ever staged in Indian cinema. According to Koimoi, the massive battle scenes involved over 500 fighters and a total of 3,000 people, including both national and international experts.
Filming took place over nearly 50 days on rugged terrain, in a specially constructed town sprawling across 25 acres. This ambitious effort highlights the film’s grand scale and commitment to authenticity.
The movie will be released in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English, making it accessible to a wide audience across India and beyond.
