BRUSSELS, Belgium — Apple has called on the European Union to scrap its landmark digital competition law, arguing that the regulation poses security risks and results in a “worse experience” for consumers.

The US tech giant’s appeal comes amid ongoing tensions between Apple and the EU over the bloc’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). Brussels considers the DMA a crucial step toward making the digital market more competitive and fair. However, Apple contends that the rules could undermine user security and degrade the overall quality of its products and services.

As discussions continue, both sides remain firmly positioned on their views regarding the future of digital regulation in Europe.
