Mumbai: As interior regions of Maharashtra continue to suffer from devastating floods and widespread impact on farmers, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for increased rainfall activity across the state from September 26 to 30. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during this period due to rough conditions.

**IMD Forecasts Heavy to Extremely Heavy Rainfall**

The IMD bulletin released on Friday states, “Widespread rainfall activity with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, accompanied by isolated extremely heavy rainfall, is very likely over Konkan, Marathwada, and adjoining ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during this period.”

**Orange and Red Alerts Issued for Several Districts**

From September 27 to 29, several districts are under an Orange Alert indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall. These include Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, and the ghats of Pune, Nashik, Satara, and Kolhapur. On September 28, Raigad district and the ghats of Pune have been placed under a Red Alert, signaling more severe weather conditions.

**Local Forecast for Mumbai**

For Mumbai city and its suburbs, the skies are expected to remain generally cloudy with heavy rain and the possibility of very heavy rainfall at isolated places. Temperatures will be cooler than normal, with maximums around 29°C and minimums near 24°C.

Residents and visitors are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions during this period of heightened rainfall.
