As Tokyo Game Show 2025 winds down, it’s time to decide our favorite reveals from an exciting week of showcases. From Sony’s State of Play to Kojima’s special event, this week was packed with gaming news. Here are some of our favorite announcements from TGS 2025 — what were yours? Sound off in the Chatty!

### Forza Horizon 6
**Ozzie Mejia, Senior Scenic Route Taker**
This one feels bittersweet given some of the ruthless cuts Microsoft has made to the Forza Motorsport series and developer Turn 10 Studios. That said, I’m fascinated by the Japan setting for *Forza Horizon 6*. I haven’t been to Japan much—it’s an expensive vacation—so I’m eager to experience it vicariously through this game. Racing through the streets of Tokyo and the Japanese countryside sounds incredible.

### Rhythm Doctor Release Date
**Asif Khan, Purveyor of Fine Electronic Music**
Sometimes really cool indie games slip under my radar, and *Rhythm Doctor* was definitely one of them. Hidden in the middle of the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast (which aired at an ungodly hour EST), this trailer was a delightful surprise. A rhythm game based around one button and featuring a psychedelic art style is exactly my vibe. In a week full of AAA trailers, *Rhythm Doctor’s* release date announcement truly stood out — and I’m all in. I’ll probably play it on PC since my Xbox Series X has become a glorified heat shield strategically placed between my Switch 2 and PS5.

### Wolverine Release Date
**Bill Lavoy, Shackmaps Overlord**
Superhero games aren’t usually my thing, but *Wolverine* looks like a fun time. Insomniac Games has been on a roll lately, consistently developing titles that shine on PlayStation hardware. This looks like another perfect storm for both Sony and Insomniac, and I’ll happily jump in when it releases during the Fall 2026 season.

### Saros
**Sam Chandler, Rahul Kohli Stan**
I didn’t play much *Returnal* when it first came out, but after seeing more of *Saros*, I’m excited to dive in once it drops. I’m not the greatest at roguelikes, but I’m hoping my shooter skills will help me survive longer. I also love how Housemarque shifted from the cool cyan environments of *Returnal* to the warm orange tones in *Saros*. Plus, Rahul Kohli is a cool dude, so that’s an added bonus.

### Ghost Rider Gameplay in Marvel Tokon
**TJ Denzer, Reporting Live from TGS 2025**
I have a bit of an edge this week because I’m actually at Tokyo Game Show 2025 covering the floor (hello from Japan!). This year, Arc System Works, Sony, and Marvel let us play *Spider-Man* and *Ghost Rider* in *Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls* for the first time. Spider-Man is great (he’s basically Maximum Spider from Marvel vs. Capcom), but I’ve been a fan of Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider since *Midnight Suns*. And *Marvel Tokon* really makes him shine.

Robbie can control mid-range combat with his chains and has a Vengeance gauge that powers up his attacks as he uses specials—though he risks burning out if he goes too hard. His ultimate skill calls in his hellish hot rod to run over opponents at high speed with blazing hellfire. Of all the characters so far, his wild, fiery style fits me best. Looks like he’ll be one of my mains.

### Forza Horizon Finally Goes to Japan
**Donovan Erskine, Pro Driver**
*Forza Horizon* going to Japan felt like one of those video game wishes that was too cool to ever happen. Even as leaks emerged, I doubted we’d actually get to race through Japan’s streets and countryside. I couldn’t be happier to be wrong! This is likely to be my most-played game in the series once it’s out.

### C. Viper Street Fighter 6 Gameplay Reveal
**Dennis White Jr., Wishes He Looked That Good in a Suit**
We finally got a proper look at C. Viper during Capcom’s Special Presentation this week, and she looks amazing! I was worried they might tone down her feint options and core mechanics, but with a parry system built into *Street Fighter 6* by default, it seems they’re embracing her technical playstyle and giving her new and returning tools to go wild with.

With solid range attacks and tricky mix-ups, I can already see her becoming a competitive-level problem. She looks stylish and fun to play—I’m definitely looking forward to getting my hands on her when *Street Fighter 6* launches on October 15.

### Demi and the Fractured Dream
**Steve Tyminski, Too Many to Say Just One**
Picking a single favorite announcement from TGS this year is tough because so many games caught my eye. I loved seeing more of *The Adventure of Elliot* from Square Enix—the demo was fun and insightful, and hands-on time always reveals new details.

It was also exciting to hear about the *Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection* announcement. I’ve never played those *Mega Man* games but being a fan of the series means I’ll definitely check it out.

Annapurna’s *Demi and the Fractured Dream* really caught my interest—it’s a love letter to the 3D *Legend of Zelda* games, which sold me immediately. Plus, *Chrono Ark* coming to Nintendo Switch is something I’m looking forward to; I had been holding off on the Steam version and am glad I waited.

We also got more details on *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment*. While I’m not a huge fan of the *Warriors* games, Zelda titles like this usually nail storytelling and push the system’s limits.

To recap: lots of games this year piqued my interest. If I have to pick one, it’s *Demi and the Fractured Dream*—a game I didn’t know about before but now really want to play. That doesn’t lessen my excitement for the others, including a shout-out to *Mega Man* finally getting some love, even if it’s just a collection.
