As a result of his absence, Hovland’s singles match against Harris English has been halved. This adjustment brings the overall score to 12-5 in Europe’s favor before the final session begins.
With this lead, Europe now requires just two-and-a-half points from the remaining 11 singles matches to secure an outright victory over the United States.
