On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is celebrating its centenary, performed a shastra pujan and organized processions across the city.
According to the information received, processions were held at 21 major places throughout the city, showcasing the enthusiasm and dedication of the participating volunteers. Alongside these, traditional shastra pujan ceremonies were conducted at 154 locations.
Since this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the Sangh workers have intensified their efforts. Their spontaneous and wholehearted participation was widely felt, with significant involvement from the youth.
The processions held in various prominent areas of Nashik city—including Gangapur Road, Indiranagar, Raviwar Karanja, Panchavati, Bhadrakali, Nashik Road, Bhagur, Deolali, and Makhamalabad—were particularly eye-catching.
According to city Sanghchalak Dr. Vijay Malpathak and chief office bearer Suhas Vaidya, approximately eleven thousand volunteers participated in this year’s processions.
In addition to the processions, traditional shastra pujan was performed at the Bhonsla Military Institute located in the city. A Shastrapujan program was also organized at the Bhishmaraj Bam Memorial Shooting Range, an esteemed institution in Satpur.
These events highlight the dedication and spirit of the RSS volunteers as they commemorate a century of their organization’s establishment.
