Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has openly acknowledged his poor record at the club and stated that it is “normal” for club legends to criticize him. This comes after Wayne Rooney, United’s all-time leading goalscorer, expressed on his BBC podcast that “the soul has gone” from the club.

### Coach’s Reaction: “You Can’t Run Away From the Results”

Speaking during a recent press conference, Amorim responded to Rooney’s comments by saying, “It is normal. You can’t run away from the results. Then you have the baggage from last season, [although] last season for me doesn’t matter.”

Despite a disappointing 15th-place finish last season and a Europa League final defeat, many United fans had continued to back Amorim with hopes for improvement in the current campaign.

### Season Outlook: “It Is the Time to Show”

Amorim promised fans that this season would be different, citing that having more time with his players—without midweek European distractions—would help the team improve. However, the start to the season has been challenging.

After six Premier League games, Manchester United sit 14th in the table with just two wins, one draw, and three defeats. The Red Devils are also yet to keep a clean sheet this season and were recently beaten by Brentford.

When asked to give assurances to supporters, Amorim stated, “It’s not the time to say, it is the time to show.”

**Current Manchester United Stats**

– Position: 14th in the Premier League
– Games played: 6
– Wins: 2
– Draws: 1
– Losses: 3
– Clean sheets: 0

Manchester United fans will be hoping Amorim can turn things around as the season progresses, restoring both results and confidence in the squad.
