Arshad Warsi’s extended cameo as Ghafoor in the Netflix series *The Ba***ds of Bollywood* has recently become a hot topic among fans and critics alike. In a candid interview, Warsi opened up about his decision to take on the role without prior knowledge of the script or his character.
**Instant Agreement to the Role**
When director Aryan Khan approached Arshad Warsi for a two-day commitment, Warsi was quick to say yes. He told *Mid-Day*, “When Aryan said he needed me for two days, I simply asked, ‘When do you want me to come?’ Then he was trying to sell the role to me. I did it without hearing the script or my role.”
Warsi attributed his quick decision to his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan and his family, mentioning, “I love Shah Rukh and his family. The amount Shah Rukh has done for the film industry, I think it owes him!”
**Character Inspired by Shah Rukh Khan**
Interestingly, Warsi’s look for the role of Ghafoor was designed by Aryan Khan himself, inspired by Shah Rukh Khan’s character in the film *Raees*. His character’s entry song has become especially popular, contributing greatly to the buzz around his cameo.
“Wherever I enter now, they start playing the song. It’s because of the song that my character has become so popular,” Warsi shared. Despite the quirky and bizarre nature of the role, he trusted Khan’s creative vision and brought the character to life with enthusiasm.
**Father-Son Dynamics on Set**
During filming, Arshad Warsi noticed striking similarities between Aryan Khan and his superstar father Shah Rukh Khan. “Aryan is also hard-working like his father. Also, they both don’t sleep. The abundant energy they have is unbelievable,” he remarked.
Shah Rukh Khan even visited the set during Warsi’s shoot, offering valuable insights about the role. “The day SRK directs, he will be a very good director,” Warsi commented appreciatively.
**What’s Next for Arshad Warsi?**
Looking ahead, Arshad Warsi will headline the upcoming film *Bhagwat Chapter One: Rakshas*, directed by Akshay Shere. In this ZEE5 release, Warsi takes on a serious cop role — a departure from his usual characters.
He said, “After *Seher*, this is the first time I’m playing a serious cop.” The film also features popular actors like Jitendra Kumar, known for *Panchayat* fame.
Meanwhile, *The Ba***ds of Bollywood* continues to draw attention with performances by Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Lakshya, and Raghav Juyal. The Netflix series premiered in September and remains a favorite among viewers.
