Meghan Markle has come under fire after being caught laughing at a runway model who stumbled while walking the catwalk, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, took a break from promoting her lifestyle brand, As Ever, to attend Paris Fashion Week. She was seated front row at the Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2026 show on Saturday, October 4.

### Meghan’s Balenciaga Backlash

While Markle shared a carefully curated Instagram video of herself preparing for and attending the controversial luxury brand’s fashion show, another video circulating on social media has sparked outrage for a far less flattering reason.

In the viral clip, Markle is seen sitting front row dressed in a sleek white monochrome outfit. Her brunette hair was styled in a low, slicked-back bun, with minimal makeup and accessories completing the look.

Markle’s attention was focused on the runway when she experienced a physical reaction to an incident just out of frame. Her shoulders shuddered and she appeared to mouth an “Oh!” before quickly covering her mouth with her hand—clearly suppressing a laugh. She then leaned over to whisper something to her friend Markus Anderson.

### Social Media Backlash: “A Cruel Person”

The video quickly drew harsh criticism online. Social media users condemned Markle as “a cruel person” and highlighted what they describe as her history of “inappropriate laughter.”

One X (formerly Twitter) user sarcastically wrote: “Very sympathetic. A real mark of a good person, eh?” Another criticized Markle for trying to dismiss her laughter, commenting: “And then she very quickly realized how inappropriate and cruel that was. Too little, too late.”

Others questioned why Markle seemed to take pleasure in others’ misfortunes. “Why does she find such joy in others tripping or falling…” one user asked.

### Markle’s History of ‘Inappropriate Laughter’

Several commenters referenced past moments where Markle appeared to laugh at unfortunate incidents, including when her young niece, Princess Charlotte, fell on the Buckingham Palace balcony and was “clearly hurt,” as well as when a guard stumbled during Trooping the Colour.

One X user remarked: “Inappropriate laughter (usually at someone else’s misfortune) is the only spontaneous thing Meghan does. All the rest is calculated and performative.” Another added: “She’s a terrible person. Always laughing at other people’s misfortunes. She laughed at Princess Charlotte. A child.”

### Controversy Over Paris Trip Video

RadarOnline.com also reported that Markle’s overall trip to Paris has not been well-received on social media. In the Instagram video she posted from the Balenciaga show, some viewers were distracted by what they described as Markle’s “bizarre” walk.

More scrutiny came when critics noticed a carefree shot in the montage showing Markle resting her feet inside her car as it passed several iconic Parisian bridges, including Pont Alexandre III and Pont des Invalides.

The controversy intensified because the next bridge the car would have passed, Pont d’Alma, is near the Pont d’Alma tunnel—the site where her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, tragically died in a car crash in 1997.

Markle’s decision to include this clip was widely condemned as “utterly bewildering” and “insensitive beyond belief.”

As Markle’s presence at high-profile events continues to attract attention, her public image remains a topic of heated discussion across social media platforms.
