**DDC Kupwara Inspects Ongoing Water Supply Scheme Works in Halmatpora**

*Kupwara:* District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, on Sunday visited Halmatpora to inspect the ongoing works related to the Water Supply Scheme (WSS). This scheme is part of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), aimed at providing functional household tap connections (FHTCs) to every household in the area.

The main components of the project include two borewells with pump rooms, electromechanical components for a single-stage lift, two reservoirs each with a capacity of 30,000 gallons, and a comprehensive pipe network covering both the rising main and distribution system. Once completed, the scheme will benefit approximately 3,746 residents of Pir Mohallah and Sofi Mohallah by ensuring a sustainable and safe drinking water supply.

During his visit, the DDC inspected the ongoing borewell work at Pir Mohallah, Halmatpora Hayhama, and reviewed the pace and quality of development works being executed in the area.

Residents of Halmatpora also raised demands for the macadamization of local roads and the repair of the animal husbandry building. The DDC gave a patient hearing to public representatives and assured them that necessary works would be taken up on priority to address the developmental needs of the area.

The DDC was accompanied by officers and officials from the Jal Shakti Department during the inspection.
