RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — A Holly Springs man has won the $100,000 grand prize in a recent second-chance Mega Millions drawing.
Yemane Abreha described the moment as “a really happy moment.” His winning entry was selected from among 638,541 submissions in the drawing held on October 8.
After state and federal tax withholdings, Abreha took home $71,750. He plans to use the money to remodel his house and support his family.
Players qualified for the second-chance drawing by scanning their Mega Millions tickets into their official lottery accounts.
In addition to the grand prize, the drawing awarded five $10,000 prizes and 35 prizes of $2,500 each.
