With Facebook (now known as Meta) posting its Q3 2025 earnings results, the company also revealed its various costs and losses. Unsurprisingly, Meta Reality Labs was once again among the major contributors to the losses.

Meta Reality Labs, the VR/AR division of Meta, consistently records significant losses each quarter, and Q3 2025 was no exception. This time around, the segment cost Meta $4.432 billion.

Facebook published its Q3 2025 earnings results, including the losses from Meta Reality Labs, on its investor relations website this week. The $4.432 billion loss in Q3 2025 showed a slight improvement compared to the previous quarter, Q2 2025, which reported $4.5 billion in losses.

However, when compared year-over-year, Q3 2025 losses were still higher than those in Q3 2024, which stood at $4.4 billion for the quarter. Since its inception, Meta Reality Labs has consistently contributed billions in losses to Meta’s bottom line.

While Meta Reality Labs has arguably driven more innovation than most companies in the AR and VR sectors, it has yet to generate any notable positive returns for the company.
