New York City was not a cauldron of anti-Islamic hate after 9/11, contrary to the cynical claims made by mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani.
Such a portrayal overlooks the resilience and solidarity demonstrated by New Yorkers during that challenging time. Instead of succumbing to fear and division, the city came together to support all of its communities.
It is important to remember the unity and strength that defined New York City in the aftermath of the tragedy, rather than revisiting narratives of hate and mistrust.
