Whatever happened to the Dodgers’ bats? And more specifically, what happened to Mookie Betts’ bat?

The future Hall of Famer is currently 3-for-23 in the World Series. For Game 5, he was “demoted” in the batting order, moving from second to third—a spot traditionally considered the marquee position. The two-hole hitter needs to be performing at his best, especially since he bats right after the great Shohei Ohtani.

Remarkably, Betts has transformed himself into arguably the best defensive shortstop in Major League Baseball to help the team. However, one rival suggested that this transition has cost him his legs and, consequently, his offensive performance.

Looking ahead, some believe Betts should return to right field next year, a position where he was also considered one of the best in the game.
