While the most recent season updates for Apex Legends have introduced some exciting additions, sometimes it’s time for a change. For Season 27, titled *Amped*, Respawn Entertainment is shaking things up by giving the old Olympus map a major overhaul to usher in an exciting new meta. But that’s not all players can look forward to this season.

### A Fresh Take on Olympus

The Olympus map originally debuted in Season 7, back when Apex Legends was navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic alongside the rest of the world. Designed as a sky-high map to bring thrilling vertical gameplay, Olympus has been part of the Apex experience for five years. Now, Respawn is ready to inject fresh excitement into its design.

For those who haven’t kept up with Apex Legends lore, chaos struck Olympus after it collided with the Stasis Net on Broken Moon and disappeared back in Season 20. The city was eventually discovered buried in the snowy tundra of Pagos and has since been restored to working condition.

Players can expect to explore four brand-new Points of Interest (POIs) across the map:

– **Somers University**: Built by Horizon, this POI replaces the old Orbital Cannon. With the Orbital Cannon proving less enjoyable during early and late games, Somers University offers a more accessible exterior, additional cover spots, and a triangular layout designed for diverse combat scenarios.

– **The Gravity Engine**: Taking over from the Energy Depot, the Gravity Engine is the source that keeps Olympus afloat. It features numerous lifts and ziplines, adding increased verticality to gameplay.

– **The Stabilizer**: Replacing the former Docks, the Stabilizer keeps Olympus aligned. Its platforms provide the setting for some tense and harrowing encounters.

– **The Dockyhard**: Located near Hydroponics, the Dockyhard blends elements from the old Olympus map with new vertical features, fostering different styles of team fights.

### Legend Reworks and Buffs

With so much focus on Olympus, Horizon is receiving a bundle of new buffs. While Respawn considered nerfs, they decided to make her gameplay more enjoyable instead. Players will discover new movement tools that give Horizon an edge in vertical battles. Additionally, her Gravity Lift Tactical cooldown has been shortened, and her Black Hole Ultimate gains extra health.

Valkyrie, known for aerial combat mastery, is receiving updates as well. Respawn acknowledges that other Legends have caught up to her, so changes were needed. Her VTOL Jets now provide increased speed boosts, and her Skyward Dive Ultimate has a shorter takeoff time. Meanwhile, her Missile Swarm Tactical is now amplified to scan enemies on contact and no longer causes self-damage. New upgrades will affect missile patterns, fuel consumption, and further reduce Skyward Dive’s takeoff duration.

Rampart’s defensive capabilities are also enhanced. Her Amped Cover Tactical now increases her walls’ durability, speed boosts, and adds a roof as players level up throughout a session. Additional upgrades will allow Rampart’s walls to regenerate health and grant infinite ammo when stationed behind Amped Cover. Although these suggest a more defensive playstyle, Respawn believes these perks will encourage Rampart to move more actively, sharing benefits with her squad.

### Weapon and Movement Updates

Several weapons are seeing changes, with the most notable being the Alternator. It now includes the Double Tap Hop-Up, allowing players to fire both barrels simultaneously for increased damage — enough to secure kills at close range.

Movement mechanics are also getting an upgrade. The improved Mantle Boost amplifies momentum, enabling faster traversal across the map. A new visual indicator will help players execute this move more reliably.

### Olympus Arrives in Wildcard Mode

Olympus isn’t just coming back to the core Apex Legends Battle Royale. The popular Wildcard mode, introduced last season, will feature Olympus for the first time. This Wildcard version will include extra ziplines, gravity cannons, and other additions designed to speed up the pace of matches.

Olympus debuts in Wildcard as part of the Supersonic Event, which runs from November 18 to December 16.
