**Former WWE Star Ridge Holland Shares Major Injury Update Amidst Release from WWE**
Former WWE SmackDown Superstar Ridge Holland recently took to social media to provide a significant update on his injury status. Known for his time as a member of the Brawling Brutes, Holland was recently released by the Stamford-based promotion.
After returning from WWE’s main roster to NXT in 2023, Holland found his groove in the black and silver brand. Teaming up with Andre Chase, he captured the NXT Tag Team Championship, marking a high point in his career. However, in September 2025, Holland suffered a severe foot injury that forced him out of in-ring competition.
Amidst his recovery, the star used Instagram to reveal not only his ongoing rehabilitation but also his unexpected release from WWE. Sharing a video of his foot post-surgery, Holland captioned the post: “First day of PT! #recovery #surgery,” highlighting that he had just begun physical therapy following the operation.
In addition to Instagram updates, Holland took to X (formerly Twitter) to share more details about his recovery journey. He announced plans to visit Birmingham, Alabama, to have his cast removed and get his foot examined through additional X-rays. This step would determine if he could start partial weight-bearing on the injured foot.
Beyond his foot injury, Holland disclosed that he has been dealing with a neck injury as well. He revealed he would be consulting a neck specialist during his visit to Birmingham. Addressing the uncertainty, Holland said, “Worst case scenario, I’ll need neck surgery, and I’m hoping for the best case scenario, which is injections, but I’m having some nerve impingement, which is sending pain down my arm, so I’m a little bit apprehensive about what’s going to happen.”
We at Sportskeeda wish former WWE star Ridge Holland a speedy recovery and hope to see him return to the ring stronger than ever.
