How to Get a Custom Weapon Loadout in Battlefield 6: REDSEC
Battlefield 6: REDSEC combines elements from many popular battle royale games, including limited ability to build into a loadout. Knowing how to get your custom-built weapons and class-specific abilities during a match is key to securing victory. Here’s a guide on how to do just that.
Custom Weapon Loadouts: What You Need to Know
Unlike some other battle royale titles like Warzone, Battlefield 6: REDSEC does not allow you to have a full custom loadout at the start of a match. However, you can equip two custom-built weapons featuring more and better attachments than those found through looting.
To acquire your custom weapons during a match, you have two main options:
- Find and loot a custom weapon drop that appears on the map
- Call in a custom weapon drop by completing specific missions that reward it
Finding and Using Custom Weapon Drops
Custom weapon drops periodically appear around the map. You can identify these drops by their distinctive rocket-pod symbols on your minimap and HUD. Since these drops are publicly known, they often become hotspots for intense firefights as multiple teams rush to secure the valuable weapons.
While looting these drops is an option, it’s risky and highly contested.
Calling in Custom Weapon Drops via Missions
A better and safer way to get your custom weapons is by completing missions that reward a custom weapon drop for you and your squad. These missions aren’t necessarily more difficult but tend to favor PvP risk missions. Successfully completing a mission allows you to call in a custom weapon drop exclusively for your team.
Once the drop arrives, you’ll be able to select from a range of custom weapon builds you have created and favorited in your Loadouts outside of a match. To favorite a weapon build, open the skin select or customize screen and press:
- X on keyboard
- Square (PS5)
- X (Xbox)
Completing Your Loadout
Getting your custom weapons is just one part of building an effective loadout. You’ll also need to scour the map for additional gear such as RPGs, Defibrillator kits, and offensive Strike Packages to maximize your squad’s chances in the mid to late game.
A solid mid-late game kit might include:
- One or two custom weapons
- An RPG or Anti-Air launcher
- A Defibrillator
- Smoke or frag grenades
- A mortar or strafing run offensive Strike Package
Winning with a Well-Equipped Squad
Even a group of silent, random teammates can pull off an unlikely win if they are all properly equipped. The odds may be long, but intelligent airstrike usage during the closing phases of the circle, combined with effective use of Defibrillators to keep your squad alive, can turn the tide of battle and lead your team to victory.
Mastering the art of custom weapon drops and loadout management in Battlefield 6: REDSEC is your key to climbing the ranks. Prepare well, communicate with your team, and watch as you dominate the battlefield.
