In a shocking development, actor Siddharth Sharma took to his Instagram to announce that he has dissociated himself from the Sunny Deol-starrer *Soorya*. In his post, Siddharth revealed that he has initiated legal proceedings against the film’s makers over non-payment of dues.

Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Siddharth Sharma to understand what went wrong. The actor shared, “This has happened for the first time in my career of 7-8 years. I have worked with T-Series for almost 5 years with Balaji, but I never faced something of this sort.”

### Siddharth Sharma BLASTS Makers of *Soorya* over Non-Payment

Siddharth was vocal about the issues, stating, “The producer told me, ‘Main toh pay nahin karunga. Tujhe jo karna hai, tu kar.’ They are ruining Sunny Deol sir’s name. They made me shoot an ad for Manyavar WITHOUT my consent or knowledge.”

He further explained the chain of events: “When I was working on the reality show *Lock Upp*, the producers of *Soorya* approached Kangana Ranaut to reach me because they wanted me to sign their film. They also got my number through Vinay Sapru sir and Radhika Rao ma’am, who gave me my biggest hit to date, ‘Leja Re’, which has 1 billion views on T-Series’ YouTube channel. Both had worked with the producer Kamal Mukut on *Sanam Teri Kasam* (2016), and the makers took their reference to approach me.”

Initially, Siddharth did not entertain their offer. “But my brother called me when I was inside and told me the producers had signed Sunny Deol and were looking for a younger actor for an important role. That’s how the film was pitched to me as a Sunny Deol starrer. By then, I had already worked on Season 2 of *Punch Beat*. I signed the agreement and we began shooting in Jaipur in 2022.”

### Issues With the Shoot and Payment

“The first schedule was over — it wasn’t great, but it was overall fine. Our contract stated that I’d get a signing amount and 20% of my remaining fees after 50% of the shoot was completed,” Siddharth recounted.

However, the film’s schedule got postponed, and the producers kept asking for dates only to cancel shoot schedules repeatedly. “Those days, they didn’t have a lot of money, so I didn’t pressure the producer. But after the success of *Gadar 2* and the re-release of *Sanam Teri Kasam*, they had money and power. I guess they felt it was okay not to adhere to my contract and not pay me,” he said.

“They used to speak very sweetly — saying things like, ‘Beta, shoot kar le. After 3 years, we are finally resuming. Sunny Deol has finally agreed to shoot.’ This was how they convinced me to continue shooting.”

### Contract and Dues Dispute

Siddharth asked for a fresh contract since the original was signed in 2022 and even requested a raise as Sunny Deol and others were getting higher fees. The producers refused.

“I said, ‘Fair enough. But please pay me my remaining dues.’ I had to cancel dates for another film I was committed to, as I needed a certain look for *Soorya*. I gave the film everything.”

Despite repeated requests, the producers refused to pay, citing lack of funds or delayed payment clearances. Siddharth recalled one threatening call: “He said, ‘Main toh pay nahin karunga. Tujhe jo karna hai, tu kar le. Tu apne aap ko bada hero samajta hai. Toh ban le hero.’ This was wrong because I always dealt with them humbly.”

He added, “As per the contract, I am committed to dubbing and promotions, but I won’t engage in any until I receive my rightful dues.”

### The Manyavar Advertisement Controversy

Siddharth also accused the makers of shooting a theatrical ad for Manyavar featuring him without his consent.

“They said it’s part of the film — a scene they added later creatively. But I had the bound script, and that scene wasn’t there,” he revealed. “They shot an ad without my knowledge. It’s cheating.”

He learned about the ad only when Manyavar reached out, mentioning they wanted to do a promotional exercise with him.

“The ad features me, Sunny sir, and Virti Vaghani, who previously acted in *Aarya*,” Siddharth added.

### Legal Action and Current Status

With no other option, Siddharth sent a legal notice, which went unanswered. This prompted him to voice his grievances publicly on Instagram.

Despite the troubles, Siddharth maintains a positive note about the project. “The film is fantastic, and the songs are very nice. They have changed the film quite a bit from the original script I signed, but I am okay with it as it’s a creative call and if it benefits the film. But the least they can do is pay my dues and honor our agreement. Otherwise, what’s the point of doing an agreement?”

Before signing off, Siddharth expressed concern over how the situation impacts Sunny Deol’s reputation. “They are ruining Sunny Deol sir’s name. They pitch the film using his name, saying, ‘Woh hamare hero hai; hamare saath kaam kar rahe hai’. They also claim to have been in business since the 1970s and have worked with stalwarts like Rishi Kapoor. That makes one feel safe, but alas.”

Efforts to contact producer Kamal Mukut for comment were unsuccessful.
