Hot on the heels of the first Whiskerwood patch, developer Minakata Dynamics has released Patch 2 for Whiskerwood. This update brings several gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements.
Whiskerwood Patch 2 Features
- Players can now manually add extra logs to campfires, keeping the fire alive longer.
- A new button allows resetting graphic settings to default if the player enters an invalid screen configuration.
Gameplay Changes
- Reduced whisker population tax from 5 to 3 per whisker per day on normal difficulty.
- Pollution generated by all heaters has been halved.
- Production tax reduced by 33% across all difficulties.
- Improved mine tool behavior when mining floors.
- Stone paths-related quests now require a schematic check and have randomized start days.
- The 89 whisker population quest from Claws now triggers randomly and only after the second year.
- Increased the priority of harvesting crops.
- Recovery speed of soil nutrients has been increased.
- Cold temperatures no longer slow or stop nutrient recovery.
- Yield of unfertilized crops has increased. While the fertilizer boost is reduced to 150%, the overall yield keeps fertilized crops producing the same as before.
- Fully grown crops no longer drain soil nutrients.
- Farmers will now always fertilize crops when sowing, provided fertilizer is stocked and enabled.
User Interface Improvements
- Fixed tutorial dialog windows so that long text lines properly wrap within the interface.
Bug Fixes
- Snowstorms no longer occur at high temperatures.
- Fixed “no workers” warning incorrectly showing up in schools after toggling pause.
- Improved the colors of wheat for better visual clarity.
- Fire Tender and Luxury Supplier roles now appear correctly in the workplace overview.
- Fixed an issue where fire visual effects could become detached from campfires.
- Terrain for mining underground can now be marked properly, even when it sticks to the wall without using Slice View.
- Dock decking missing shadows have been restored.
- Reduced the height of the dock roof to fix clipping issues.
- Camps now remember allowed resources when loading saved games.
- Sunlight blockage by buildings is now correctly loaded from save files.
- Wheat now displays accurate fertility colors in fertility view mode.
