Toronto Raptors star Brandon Ingram inadvertently hit a staffer in the face with his water bottle during a game on Saturday night. The incident occurred when Ingram slammed his water bottle onto the floor in frustration, causing it to bounce and strike a staff member.
The moment was captured during the TSN broadcast as Ingram returned to the bench. After sitting down, he forcefully spiked his water bottle onto the floor. Unfortunately, the bottle bounced and hit one of the staffers in the face. The game was briefly paused while crew members came over to clean up the wet spots.
Ingram remained seated on the bench, watching as the staffers, including the affected individual, wiped up the mess. It was unclear whether Ingram apologized for the outburst.
Despite the incident, Ingram had a solid performance, scoring 21 points and grabbing eight rebounds in 37 minutes. However, the Philadelphia 76ers ultimately won the game 130-120.
Toronto came within three points of Philadelphia’s lead with 3:25 left in the game. However, the 76ers responded by scoring the next six points, including a layup by VJ Edgecombe, a dunk from Kelly Oubre Jr., and a follow-up basket by Joel Embiid after missing his own shot.
The 76ers pushed their advantage to nine points with 1:25 remaining and maintained control for the rest of the game. Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 29 points, while Tyrese Maxey added 31.
Ingram joined the Raptors during the offseason on a three-year deal reportedly worth $120 million. He is currently averaging 21 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game over 10 games for Toronto.
