The next Mass Effect game—presumably Mass Effect 5, though it remains untitled at this time—was announced back in 2020. Leading up to that announcement, BioWare had faced some challenges, and unfortunately, the situation hasn’t seen significant improvement since then.
Despite this, BioWare and Electronic Arts made sure not to let N7 Day pass without addressing fans and providing an update. The next Mass Effect installment is still very much in development, and both teams remain committed to its eventual release.
On N7 Day 2025, BioWare shared a blog post to reassure the community that the game is progressing and remains in active development. While the language in the blog post suggests that we shouldn’t expect substantial news about the game anytime soon, the developers emphasized their ongoing dedication.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to new Mass Effect-related content, including fresh merchandise and crossover collaborations with other EA franchises. These initiatives aim to keep the Mass Effect spirit alive while the next chapter in the series continues to take shape behind the scenes.
