SALISBURY St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is inviting the entire community to its “Advent Lessons and Carols” on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 10: 30 a. m. The St. Luke’s Choristers and Adult Choir will present hymns, anthems and carols to prepare our hearts for Christmas. Lessons from the Old and New Testaments will be read by members of St. Luke’s. This will be the church’s fourth Lessons and Carols led by Director of Music Ministries Stephen Williams and co-directed by Caroline Stephenson, St. Luke’s Parish and Family Ministry coordinator. “Both accomplished musicians, they manage, teach, conduct, accompany and sing with the choirs of St. Luke’s,” noted a release. In that release, Williams shared that Lessons and Carols is an opportunity to, “recenter and reflect on the Advent themes of longing, hope and peace. Since this particular liturgy was developed for the Cathedral in Salisbury, England, it seems a fitting choice. I’m looking forward to sharing it again with our St. Luke’s and Salisbury communities.” Members of the St. Luke’s Choristers range in age from 7-14. The singers include Clara Tinsley (choral scholar), James Stephenson (head chorister), Salem Griffith, John Graham Corriher, Emma Stephenson, Rachel Tinsley, Ruby Corriher, Gabriel Washington, Ezekiel Washington, Lauren Washington, Ellory Whitley, Emily Bristol, Charis Roth, Hayleigh Crabb, Sawyer Jacobson, Jiselle Samolu and Ingrid Jacobson. Guests and visitors are welcome. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is located at 131 W. Council St. in downtown Salisbury. More information may be found at www.
