Can You Save Jubei in Ghost of Yotei?
In Ghost of Yotei, we follow the adventures of Atsu as she seeks revenge for her family. This guide covers some significant story beats and is divided into two sections: mild spoilers and major spoilers. If you don’t want the game spoiled at all, now is the time to turn back.
Small Spoilers
Toward the end of Ghost of Yotei, Jubei and your friend Oyuki get captured and taken to the main base of your enemy, the dreaded Lord Saito. Your main mission at this point is to infiltrate the base and rescue them.
The good news is that you can get Jubei out safely. Whether you choose to play stealthily or go in with a loud, aggressive approach, it’s entirely up to you. The story is fairly linear at this stage, and you will successfully break them out.
Personally, I enjoy playing this section stealthily because the enemy camp is well-designed and offers a satisfying challenge as you make your way through.
Major Spoilers
Many players wonder if it’s possible to save Jubei during the final sequence when you all return home to discover Lord Saito and Jubei’s daughter at your old farmstead. Unfortunately, at this point in the story, there is nothing you can do to save Jubei—his fate is sealed.
One of the major differences between Ghost of Yotei and its predecessor is that this game has only a single ending. The story of Atsu concludes with a single, canonical ending—there are no alternate outcomes.
