Morris Catholic, ranked No. 5 in the NJ.com Top 20, secured a thrilling 58-55 victory over Elizabeth Seton (MD) in the St. James Classic held in Springfield, Virginia. Jayah Curtis led the charge for Morris Catholic with 13 points, including three critical 3-pointers that helped fuel the comeback.
Despite Elizabeth Seton holding a commanding 37-24 lead at halftime, Morris Catholic mounted an impressive second-half rally. The team outscored Elizabeth Seton 34-18 after the break to overturn the deficit and clinch the win.
Kennedy Brown contributed 11 points, while Jacqueline Edelman added 10 points to the Morris Catholic effort. On the other side, Zoe Osby led Elizabeth Seton with a game-high 23 points.
With this victory, Morris Catholic improves to 10-3 overall and extends its winning streak to seven games. The team will next face Shipley (PA) in the Rose Classic Super Jam at Nazareth High School in New York on Monday at 1 p.m. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Seton falls to 0-1 with the loss.
