BEIJING, China — Alibaba announced on Wednesday a “milestone collaboration” in artificial intelligence (AI) technology with US chip giant Nvidia. The Chinese company stated that this partnership will accelerate its development of humanoid robots.
The news coincided with a surge in Alibaba’s shares, which soared more than 9 percent in Hong Kong. This increase followed CEO Eddie Wu’s unveiling of plans to further ramp up the company’s AI initiatives.
