Carlos Alcaraz admitted that his ankle injury had been a source of concern and was on his mind as he secured a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Belgium’s Zizou Bergs at the Japan Open on Saturday.

The world number one sustained the injury two days earlier during his opening match in Tokyo. He crumpled to the ground but continued playing with his ankle heavily strapped, showing determination to push through the pain.
