**Donald Trump Clashes with Oregon Governor Tina Kotek Over National Guard Deployment**

Donald Trump recently engaged in a heated text message exchange with Oregon Governor Tina Kotek regarding his decision to deploy the National Guard to Portland, the state’s largest city, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
The former president urged Kotek to “get your state in order” in messages that reflected Trump’s signature style, similar to his posts on Truth Social.
### What Did Trump Say?
“Governor: The ICE Facility in Portland was attacked again last night,” Trump wrote in messages obtained by KATU. “In fact, it, and other Federal Buildings, are being attacked on a nightly basis. We can’t have this.”
He concluded the message sent on Sunday, September 28, with: “Thank you for your attention to this matter! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
### Kotek Pushes Back
Governor Kotek did not back down, responding firmly that Trump had broken his promise to consult with her before deploying troops to Oregon.
“… I believe this is unlawful and unwarranted. You broke your promise to speak with me before taking further action against Portland. I will be in touch later,” she said.
### Trump Defends ICE and National Guard Action
According to KATU, Trump fired back: “I notified you to get things in order, and you didn’t. They attacked our ICE Patriots last night, and at other times. If you get your State in order, we don’t come in, but everyone knows that Portland has been an unmitigated disaster for years.”
He added, “I won’t let that happen in America! President DJT.”
It appears that many of Trump’s responses were drafted by White House aide Natalie Harp, a former One America News Network anchor who joined his team in 2022.
Trump has consistently criticized Portland, accusing the city of harboring “domestic terrorists.” To counter this, he sent 200 National Guard troops to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in Portland from what he described as “ANTIFA” threats, authorizing the use of “full force, if necessary.”
### Louisiana Governor Seeks Trump’s Assistance
Trump’s frustration seems rooted in ongoing nightly protests outside Portland’s ICE buildings—a phenomenon that has persisted since June. However, police report that these protests have generally been “limited to fewer than thirty participants” at any given time.
Beyond Oregon, Trump has continued to deploy National Guard troops to other cities, including Los Angeles and Chicago. While many city officials have pushed back against these deployments, Louisiana’s Republican Governor Jeff Landry recently appealed to the former president for help, citing the need for additional support to fight crime.
In a letter to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth—who has been noted for displaying concerning behavior—Landry requested the deployment of 1,000 troops to Louisiana.
### Trump’s Broader Message to Military Leaders
On Tuesday, September 30, Trump addressed a room filled with top military generals, emphasizing the military’s role in protecting the United States not only from external threats but also “from within.”
“It’s a war from within,” he said, warning that Democratic-run cities are in “bad shape.”
He further stated, “I told Pete [Hegseth] we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military National Guard.”
