NAGOYA, Oct 15 – A tragic accident occurred near JR Nagoya Station, where a woman who had been in critical condition after being struck by a small car was confirmed dead on October 15, according to Aichi Prefectural Police.
The 49-year-old victim was one of three pedestrians hit at an intersection in Nakamura Ward when the vehicle suddenly veered out of its lane.
Among the other victims, a 36-year-old male company employee, who was also in critical condition, has regained consciousness. However, he suffered a fractured spine and other serious injuries.
Additionally, a 48-year-old female temporary worker sustained a severe neck fracture in the collision.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash, including the possibility that the driver crossed over lane markings before the accident occurred. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
