How to Get Weapon XP Fast in Battlefield 6
The weapon grind in Battlefield games has always been a slog, and Battlefield 6 is no exception. This time around, however, we have more freedom than ever in how we level weapons, and more ability than ever to level them up fast. Here’s how.
You earn weapon XP from kills, assists, suppressions, and similar actions, so you’ll need lots of those in a match to level your weapons quickly. Using a Hardware XP Booster provides temporary double XP for your equipped weapon as well, but those are relatively limited and you’ll want to save them for the weapons you really want to upgrade.
Farming Weapon XP on Bot Servers
To make things easier, you’ll want to farm bot servers, where you and a few other human players can sit at the opposing team’s spawn and shred the bots as they attempt to leave said spawn.
To find a bot farm server in Battlefield 6, go into the server browser and type “bot farm” into the filter menu. Also, make sure there are 11+ open slots.
When selecting a server, consider the following:
- A low human player count to ensure you’re not fighting with fellow grinders for XP
- A smaller map, like Empire State or Siege of Cairo, with well-defined spawn and choke points for easy funneling of bots into a kill zone
- Preferably a server without class-locked weapons so you can level whatever you want
Which server you choose to farm your weapon XP will depend on your region, the time of day, and your personal preferences. While researching this guide, I found a server I liked with the code 4EM4. The bots were less challenging than usual, there were thousands of tickets between matches, and it was relatively empty of other human players.
Bot Farming Etiquette
There are a few unwritten etiquette rules to follow while bot farming:
- Don’t shoot other players. You’ll know them because they take many more bullets to kill. If you accidentally shoot another player, stop immediately.
- Stick to the spawns, not the objectives. You won’t farm many bots if you’re playing the objective like a normal match. Instead, make your way to the enemy spawn, or as close as you can get, and hold the line.
- Don’t hog a spawn choke point. If more than three or four players are farming bots at one choke point, consider moving to another.
- Resupply your non-Support human teammates. If you’re playing Support, be sure to throw down a Supply Crate near your farming teammates so they don’t run out of bullets.
- Keep vehicles out of the conversation. Everyone is there to farm bots with their weapons, not to be taken out by tanks, helicopters, or jets.
Understand that some players may try to disrupt your farming session, and there’s not much you can do except switch servers. As long as you remain polite with teammates and opponents, you can easily spend several hours mindlessly grinding through thousands of bots, earning a huge amount of weapon XP.
How to Level Your Weapons Fast in Non-Bot Matches
Leveling weapons efficiently in standard matches can be more unpredictable since you only earn XP for killing enemies. However, you can maximize your progress by:
- Killing enemies on the objective — this grants an additional 50 XP per kill.
- Saving or avenging teammates — you get 25 extra XP.
- Possibly earning XP from damage assists, though this is not confirmed yet, but likely counts.
Holding down a power position behind hard cover near the objective is a winning strategy, especially when defending. This position gives you a steady stream of enemies to kill and assist points to level your account.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to change your position from time to time, as enemies will swarm you once you’ve taken out enough targets.
Additional Tips
Don’t neglect using your Hardware XP Boosters. They are precious, so save them for weapons you want to max out early. Double XP is a wonderful advantage.
While bot farming is the most efficient method to level weapons quickly, playing actual matches is more enjoyable and recommended if you prefer a more engaging experience.
