Annapolis Fire Department reports that a sprinkler system rapidly knocked down a fire intentionally set inside the Park Place parking garage in Annapolis late Friday morning. The quick response prevented injuries and limited damage.
**Rapid Response at Park Place**
At approximately 10:53 a.m. on October 17, 2025, firefighters arrived at 1 Park Place after reports of smoke coming from the garage. Upon arrival, crews located the source of the smoke and confirmed that the building’s sprinkler system had already activated. The sprinklers extinguished a fire involving several boxes stored on a pallet, effectively containing the incident.
Approximately 40 firefighters responded to the scene, bringing the situation under control swiftly and safely. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
**Investigation and Detention**
The Annapolis Fire and Explosives Services Unit conducted an investigation and determined the fire was intentionally set following an altercation. One individual was detained and charged with reckless endangerment. Officials have not yet released details regarding the person’s age or hometown.
