Washington Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Friday that the U.S. conducted another strike on a vessel allegedly operated by the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The gang is believed to be involved in drug trafficking activities in the Caribbean Sea.
According to Hegseth, the strike took place in international waters and resulted in the deaths of all six men on board. He noted that this operation marks the first time a strike of this nature was carried out at night.
Hegseth shared on social media that intelligence had identified the vessel as involved in illicit narcotics smuggling. He stated, “The vessel was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics.”
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
