HOUSTON (AP) — Reggie Davis rushed for three touchdowns and 87 yards, while Jaquez Dew passed for 222 yards and a touchdown as Alcorn State defeated Texas Southern 33-14 on Saturday.

Davis scored two early touchdowns in the first half with runs of 2 and 15 yards, giving Alcorn State a 14-7 lead. He added another 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to extend the lead to two scores. Early in the fourth quarter, Dew connected with Jarvis Rush on a 2-yard touchdown pass, pushing the lead to 30-7.

Dew completed 20 of 24 passes for Alcorn State (3-6, 2-3 SWAC), with Rush making seven catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. On the Texas Southern side, KJ Cooper completed 26 of 52 attempts for 298 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. Roriyon Richardson was the top receiver for Texas Southern (4-4, 3-2), catching five passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.
