Brannon McManus and Dan Ebrahim scored in a shootout as the Adirondack Thunder skated to a 3-2 win over the Maine Mariners in an ECHL game Saturday night at Cross Insurance Arena.

One night after a shootout victory at Adirondack, Maine had trouble solving former Mariners goalie Jeremy Brodeur, who finished with 38 saves through overtime. Ebrahim opened the scoring midway through the second period, giving Adirondack the early lead.

The Mariners erased a 1-0 deficit in the third period, getting an even-strength goal from Lynden McCallum and a short-handed tally from Linus Hemstrom to take a 2-1 lead. However, with Maine still killing a penalty, Adirondack’s Sean Olson tied the game just 40 seconds after Hemstrom’s goal, sending the game into overtime.

Mariners goalie Brad Arvanitis made 27 saves in the contest but ultimately could not prevent the shootout loss.

Before the game, the Mariners made several roster moves. They signed forwards Zackary Jones and Ben Raymond. Jones was in training camp with the Mariners and appeared in two preseason games, while Raymond played last season for the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL and attended training camp with the Reading Royals.

Additionally, defenseman Ty Gallagher was reassigned to Maine from Providence of the American Hockey League.
