One of the biggest rumors circulating in recent months is the impending return of Chris Jericho to WWE. A wrestling veteran believes Jericho’s comeback is imminent after the company name-dropped him at a recent event.

Last month at Crown Jewel: Perth, John Cena faced AJ Styles for the final time. During the event, tributes were paid to other stars who played pivotal roles in their careers. Cena honored Jericho by putting Styles in the Walls of Jericho, a moment that was acknowledged by commentators Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.

On a recent episode of *Story Time* with Dutch Mantell, the former WWE manager shared his thoughts on the significance of Cole mentioning Chris Jericho. Mantell said,
“I would think just by (Michael Cole) saying the name Chris Jericho, he’s not long off from coming back into the company. Now, if Vince would still hold a grudge against him for leaving, which that has been known to happen, I don’t think Michael Cole would have said his name. And I don’t think Michael Cole would have said his name unless he was given a free access to say his name or he may have even been told to mention his name. Doing that, because it’s a prelude to him coming in, which starts talk like we’re talking right now, and now the people since his name comes up now.”

Jericho initially left WWE in 2018. Prior to that, he joined New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in 2017 and then signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019. While he has been active outside WWE, Jericho did make a cameo appearance on an episode of RAW in 2022, featured in a video package celebrating John Cena’s 20th anniversary in wrestling.

Adding further fuel to speculation about his WWE return, Chris Jericho recently surprised fans by attending an NHL game alongside Kevin Owens. The former best friends reunited during the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars, a moment Jericho shared on Instagram.

Jericho and Owens were storyline best friends who captivated WWE audiences in the mid-2010s. Their partnership had the potential to culminate in a WrestleMania main event. However, Vince McMahon opted for a different direction, a decision that reportedly contributed to Jericho’s departure from WWE in 2018.

As rumors continue to swirl, fans eagerly await official confirmation of Chris Jericho’s possible return to WWE.
