With A Trace Quest Guide

With A Trace is one of the many quests you will receive from Shani in Security. She wants you to investigate a downed machine and determine who is responsible. This quest takes place entirely on The Blue Gate map and involves four main steps. Upon completion, you will be rewarded with a Looting Mk. 2 Augment and a Medium Shield.

Quest Objectives

Reach the Barren Clearing
Find signs of who brought down the ARC machines
Inspect the Adorned Wreckage
Inspect the communications device

Step 1: Reach the Barren Clearing

The Barren Clearing is located in the northwest part of The Blue Gate, just to the left of Raider’s Refuge. This area is notable for being devoid of trees and scattered with giant ARC machines wreckage.

Step 2: Find Signs of Who Brought Down the ARC Machines

Once you arrive at the Barren Clearing, head to the southwest side near the main machine wreckage. Look closely at the leg of one of the machines—you are searching for a ball resting against it. When you find it, a yellow Investigate prompt will appear. Interact with this prompt to proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Inspect the Adorned Wreckage

The Adorned Wreckage is located south of the Barren Clearing within The Blue Gate map. This site can be identified by a large wreck covered in cables and dishes. Explore this area carefully as part of your investigation.

Step 4: Inspect the Communications Device

At the Adorned Wreckage, look for a computer terminal on the south side of the area. Interact with the yellow-highlighted computer terminal to complete this final step of the quest.
