The Ministry of Railways has announced a revision in the maximum retail price (MRP) of packaged drinking water bottles under the brand ‘Rail Neer’. The Railway Board’s decision will come into effect from September 22.

Under the new pricing structure, the cost of a one-litre bottle of water has been reduced from Rs 15 to Rs 14. Similarly, the price for a 500-ml bottle has been decreased from Rs 10 to Rs 9. These revised prices will apply to water sold at railway premises and on trains operated by Indian Railways.

In addition, the maximum retail price for packaged drinking water bottles shortlisted by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)/Railways has also been revised. From September 22, a one-litre bottle will be available at Rs 14, while a 500-ml bottle will be sold for Rs 9.

These changes aim to provide affordable packaged drinking water to passengers and visitors at railway locations across the country.
