A woman suspected of burglarizing a home in Santa Clarita on Saturday was arrested Sunday afternoon after deputies tracked her to a Canyon Country neighborhood.
Deputies had been searching for the woman since the residential burglary occurred. They were able to identify her earlier in the day using home surveillance footage, according to SCV Sheriff Deputy Hoslet.
Around 4:20 p.m., units converged on the area of Soledad Canyon Road and Shangri-La Drive after receiving information that the suspect was nearby. When deputies made contact, the woman took off running, prompting a brief foot pursuit.
Deputies quickly caught up with her near KinderCare on Soledad Canyon Road and took her into custody.
“The suspect was already identified through camera earlier in the day, and then we got information that she was in this area,” Hoslet said.
The woman was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on burglary-related charges.
