House Republican leaders are aiming to hold a vote on Tuesday regarding legislation that would mandate the full release of the Justice Department’s files related to Jeffrey Epstein, sources familiar with the matter have told CBS.
Last week, all Democrats joined forces with four Republican House members to successfully bring a petition to the floor. This petition forces a vote on releasing the complete Justice Department files on Epstein, effectively circumventing GOP leadership.
House Speaker Mike Johnson has confirmed that the vote is scheduled to take place in the upcoming week.
This is a breaking story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
