**Mumbai: Disha Patani’s Security Beefed Up After Bareilly Shooting Incident**

A week after a shocking shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s ancestral home in Bareilly, the Mumbai Police have strengthened security arrangements at her residence. This move follows a request from the Bareilly Police urging their Mumbai counterparts to remain vigilant, as reported by India Today.
### The Shooting Incident
The attack took place in the early hours of September 12 near Patani’s Civil Lines home. Multiple rounds, including aerial shots, were fired at around 4:30 AM. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The shooting was linked to comments made by Disha Patani’s sister, Khushboo, about Hindu saint Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. Khushboo had criticized the saint for his remarks on women in live-in relationships. However, many misunderstood her comments as a criticism of Premanand Maharaj’s views on youngsters having multiple relationships, which sparked controversy.
A post, allegedly from the Goldy Brar gang, claimed responsibility for the attack, stating, “The insult of our deities will not be tolerated. This was just a trailer.”
### Progress in the Investigation
Authorities have made significant progress in the case. A joint operation involving Delhi Police, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), and Haryana STF identified two shooters connected to the Bareilly attack. On September 17, Ravindra alias Kallu and Arun, linked to the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang, were killed in an encounter near Tronica City, Ghaziabad, following a shootout. Four police officers sustained injuries during the confrontation.
### Continued Crackdown and Security Measures
The investigation remains ongoing. On September 19, another encounter resulted in the injury of a fifth suspect, Ramniwas alias Deepak from Rajasthan, who had surveilled Patani’s Bareilly home days before the attack. His accomplice, Anil Nivansi from Haryana, was arrested, and the police recovered a pistol and cartridges.
Authorities continue to dismantle the network behind the attack while maintaining enhanced security measures for Disha Patani.
