WWE Superstar Jey Uso has provided an update to his fans following an injury he sustained at the Wrestlepalooza premium live event on Saturday, September 20.
On Sunday, Uso posted a photo to his Instagram Stories showing a visible cut on his forehead and a blood-stained towel, accompanied by the caption, “I’m good,” signaling to his followers that he is recovering.
The injury occurred during a tag team match at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Jey Uso teamed with his brother, Jimmy Uso, to face Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The incident happened when Jey struck Bron Breakker with a steel chair, which then ricocheted and hit Jey in the head, causing a cut.
Following the injury, the match concluded with Breakker spearing both Usos through a table before Reed executed his Tsunami Splash on Jey for the pinfall victory. Jey Uso was then helped backstage, where medical personnel evaluated him.
As reported by Bryan Alvarez, Jey Uso has been placed in WWE’s concussion protocol as a precautionary safety measure. The photo shared by Uso marks his first public communication since the incident and clearly shows the effects of the chair shot.
WWE has not yet made an official public statement regarding the specifics of Jey Uso’s injury or a potential timeline for his return to in-ring competition. Being in the concussion protocol means he must be medically cleared by WWE doctors before he can perform again.
This injury comes at a significant time for Jey Uso, who has been featured prominently both as a singles competitor and in the tag team division alongside his brother. We send our best wishes to Jey for a speedy and full recovery.
