WoW Classic TBC Anniversary phase is going to kick off in January 2026, and so we’re looking back to what should be the best PVE and PVP specs. This is based on previous World of Warcraft Classic experiences, and our thoughts based on playing in The Burning Crusade when it originally released. The way players approach the game could of course change, and that may mean differences. It’s also worth pointing out that this is merely my opinion, and what you think is more enjoyable or more powerful, based on your skill level or personal experiences may differ. Either way, here is our PVE and PVP tier lists for WoW Classic TBC 20th Anniversary servers. WoW Classic TBC Anniversary Tier list: PVE specs Below is our PVE spec tier list for WoW Classic’s TBC Anniversary server. DPS Tier List S-Tier: Destruction Warlock, Beast Mastery Hunter, Demonology Warlock, Arcane Mage, Elemental Shaman, Survival Hunter. A-Tier: Fire Mage, Affliction Warlock, Fury Warrior, Enhancement Shaman. B-Tier: Shadow Priest, Retribution Paladin, Balance Druid, Frost Mage, Combat Rogue. C-Tier: Arms Warrior, Feral Druid (Cat), Marksmanship Hunter. D-Tier: Assassination Rogue, Subtlety Rogue. Warlocks in general, dominated Burning Crusade, and that won’t change in WoW TBC’s Anniversary server. They did incredible damage, typically on the top of the charts, and they had so much utility. Ritual of Summoning to get players to them, Soulstone to revive people, and other useful utilities. Other standouts are Beast Mastery Hunters for their wide array of damage abilities, and Arcane Mage for their solid dps, and tons of utility (Polymorph, Arcane Intellect, Refreshment Tables). Mages are required for Gruul’s Lair, so either Arcane or Fire are going to shine. Healer Tier List S-Tier: Restoration Shaman. A-Tier: Holy Paladin, Holy Priest. B-Tier: Restoration Druid, Discipline Priest. When it comes to healers in WoW TBC Anniversary servers, Restoration Shaman is going to stand on top of the hill. They have access to Bloodlust, which no other class at this point in time has. They also have amazing AOE heals with Chain Heal, and their Totems offer a sweeping array of buffs. Windfury, Wrath of Air, and Mana Tide in particular are standouts. Holy Priests are just as powerful in the utility range, but you really only need one in a raid to get the most out of them. Tank Tier List S-Tier: Protection Warrior. A-Tier: Protection Paladin, Feral Druid (Bear). Tanks in general, in Burning Crusade were pretty close together in terms of power and utility. When the WoW Classic TBC Anniversary phase kicks off, Protection Warriors will almost certainly be on top, though. It’s mostly down to the incredible cooldowns that Prot Warriors have (Shield Wall, Last Stand). WoW Classic TBC Anniversary Tier list: PVP specs As the phases of WoW Classic TBC’s Anniversary server move on, this will likely shift around quite a lot. However, right now, here’s where we feel the PVP specs will stand up in the grand scheme of the game. DPS Tier List S-Tier: Subtlety, Combat, Assassination Rogues, Demonology, Affliction, Destruction Warlocks, Arcane, Fire, Frost Mages. A-Tier: Fury and Arms Warriors, Beast Master, Survival, Marksmanship Hunters, Shadow Priest. B-Tier: Enhancement and Elemental Shaman, Balance Druid, Feral Druid, Retribution Paladin. While Rogues will no doubt sit at the top of PVP in Burning Crusade, they’re also very skill-heavy. You really need to know where and when to use their cooldowns. This is not the case with Warlocks I think. They’re a bit on the easier side. Lots of easy damage, and CC (Fear, Howl of Terror). Mages are amazing in PVP for their single-target damage and Polymorph, but they’re better in Arena than they are in larger PVP maps. Healer Tier List S-Tier: Restoration Druid. A-Tier: Discipline Priest. B-Tier: Restoration Shaman, Holy Paladin. Especially in Arena, Restoration Druids will sit at the top of the PVP heap in WoW TBC Anniversary servers in 2026. Instant cast heals, HOTs, the incredibly annoying Cyclone spell, Entangling Roots, they can do everything. They can still go into Bear and Cat forms, too. The only thing they lack is a good dispel. I would put Discipline Priests very close to Restoration Druids, too. They have lots of bubbles, heals, and of course, Dispel Magic/Mass Dispel. Their main problem is if they’re caught out, they don’t have the health or armor to last in a prolonged fight. Tank Tier List S-Tier: Protection Warrior, Feral Druid (Bear). A-Tier: Protection Paladin. Honestly, I just put them more or less in the same positions, but typically, people don’t play tanks in Arena. They’re decent, and can work in the right composition, but more people are going to play DPS and healers instead. I think tanks can work in niche builds with very clever PVP players, though in WoW Classic TBC.
