Texas voters approved a generational investment in water infrastructure Tuesday night by approving an additional $20 billion for the Texas Water Fund over the next two decades.
This significant funding aims to support critical water projects across the state and ensure sustainable water resources for future generations.
However, the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), which manages the fund, has announced that the money will not be available until fall 2029. This means that while the commitment has been made, the release of funds and related projects will begin several years from now.
